概要 Purpose:
To assess the morphological change of the morning glory disc abnormality (MDA) with retinoschisis and serous retinal detachement (SRD) by spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT).
Patients:
A 14‐years‐old male was presented with decreased visual acuity in his right eye and referred to our hospital in September 2010.
In first examination, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 20/25 in his right eye and 20/20 in his left eye.
Examination of his right eye revealed large size optic disc with excavation and retinoschisis around the optic disc. The left eye was normal.
SD-OCT findings of his right eye were presented ①thick membranous reflex o n the disc, ②enlargement of optic disc diameter, ③loss of optic disc excavation,④pulled retinal tissue into the optic disc、⑤outer retinal schitic cavity connecting from retinopapillary junction.
In June 2013, BCVA of his right eye was decreased 20/32, SD-OCT disclosed increasing central macular thickness with SRD and outer retinal tear at the macular region in his right eye.
Conclusion:
SD-OCT findings of the optic disc in this case suggested that retinal - optic disc borderline tissue representing as intermediary tissue of Kuhnt possessed weakness.
We hypothesized that intraretinal fluid in schisis cavity was originated from subarachnoidal space through the weak intermediary tissue of Kuhnt resulting SRD in this case.
