概要 | Neuro-fiber-layer thickness (NFLT) is an important factor to evaluate the progression of glaucoma. However, normalized NFLT data is not available in Japanese population. In this study, we surveyed the NFLT from the patients of non-glaucomatous (NG) and glaucomatous patients in order to clarify the characteristics of NFLT in normal and some types of glaucoma among Japanese population
Material and Method We retrospectively reviewed the patient’s clinical record of whom received OCT 3000 Fast NFL programs in Yamada Eye Clinic during Jan 2006 to Dec 2008. The patients have primary open angle glaucoma (POAG), normal tension glaucoma (NTG), primary angle closure (PAC), and without glaucoma were recruited. The patients had ocular diseases which may affect NFLT (including high myopia and retinal degeneration) were excluded. We only investigate the data which cleared > 5 signal intensity and accurate scanning shape. We compared Statistical analysis was made against all the data (circular 256 points/eye) in each groups by repeated measures ANOVA and Fisher’s PLSD used as post hoc test. To make the analysis easier, 8 points (temporal (T), temporal upper (TU), upper (U), nasal upper (NU), nasal (N), nasal lower (NL), lower (L), temporal lower (TL)) were selected. Total of 1202 eyes (745 patients) of NG, 85 eyes (43 patients) of POAG, 69 eyes (53 patients) of NTG, and 52 eyes (34 patients) of PAC were retrieved. Demography of each groups were as follows: (average age, age range), NG (55, 3-93), POAG (63, 32-82), NTG (63, 34-84), and PAC (67, 56-78). NFLT of NTG and POAG was statistically smaller than NG (p<0.01) in all selected points except T. NFLT of PAC was smaller than that of NG in T, TU, and TL (p<0.03), but larger in U, NU,N, and L (p<0.03). NTG and POAG showed mostly same tendency except TU and L (NTG>POAG). NFLT of PAC was larger than that of NTG and POAG in most points (p<0.01) except T, TU, and TL. |
